Activity, Activity, Activity; that’s your key to any form of success. Activity always pays, remember that! Without activity, you won’t go anywhere: you will be like a goat tied to a tree going round and round in circles, still getting back to the same place!

Have you been meaning to:

Join the gym?

Tidy that room?

Write that book?

Paint the house?

Build that website?

Start that business?

Create that product?

Learn that language?

Start an exercise program?

Call that prospective client?

Apply & Enrol at the university?

Take someone away for a short break?

Have you been wondering why you haven’t achieved anything of significance yet? Your Problem is; You’re Lacking Activity in your endeavors! No Activity, No Achievement! If you don’t do, you won’t get. Can you harvest grain even though you didn’t plant anything? I don’t think so!

You need to get going, you need to get started and when I say get started, I mean get started! No more putting things off for later or when you feel like you want to. You need to get started now! There is no point of speaking about it, telling everyone about it, planning it and doing nothing!

If you don’t act, your life will remain the same, conditions will remain the same and your results will be the same. No Activity, No Success!

Your only option is to take massive action!

Do you woke up each morning overwhelmed with your work load? You discover there is more to do and don’t even know where to start? If you answered yes, I want to tell you, you are not alone. Many people I have worked with, have been in the same dilemma.

Lets Talk About Rabbits

I have a message to convey to you today, “Stop chasing two or more rabbits at the same time!” The prospects of you catching either rabbit are minimum. When you go to the field where the rabbits are; choose one to go after and then pursue it until you catch it. In the field that is full of rabbits be careful of the temptation of trying to chase too many rabbits at the same time. You won’t catch one! At the end of the day, you will be tired & weary without any rabbit to show for it.

Back To The Real World!

When you have an assignment to fulfill, do everything you can to finish it. Be careful of any disturbances that may emanate in your way to distract you from accomplishing your assignment at hand. Don’t be purposeless, If anything good comes along the way, put it aside until you complete your current assignment.

Story About Once A Purposeless Writer

I know of a guy who is a writer. His writing career didn’t start very well. When he made a decision to be a writer, he started working on his first project. As he was going about his writing business, other ideas came to light about new topics he should write about. So he dropped his first project and decided to pursue a new one. These new hot projects continued to come his way and he kept shifting from one assignment to another without finishing any of them. He spent 10 years without even publishing a book. He was gifted and broke at the same time! 10 wasted years and nothing to show for it! That is what I call lack of purpose.

Be Purposeful

There are people like that who lack purpose in life. Don’t be a victim like the guy above, It’s time wasting and another form of procrastination. You have to become a decisive person. Make up your mind as to which assignment to undertake, set tasks that are meant to cause you to finish your assignment on time. If you come across difficulties, change your strategy but don’t change your decision to accomplish your assignment.

If you feel overwhelmed by your assignment, break it into small manageable pieces and set small tasks that have time limits. Concentrate on one task at a time and make sure you complete them on time. Those who have climbed the tallest mountains will tell you their secret to their success, they took one step at a time until they arrived at the peak of that mountain.

Bottom Line

Make up your mind which assignment to undertake, pursue that assignment, set manageable goals, concentrate on one task at a time, be courageous, passionate, bold, tenacious, determined and diligent. If other worth-pursuing assignments come along the way, put them aside until you accomplish the assignment at hand. You will succeed! Yes you will!

One Rabbit At A Time, Will Do The Trick!

Putting Off An Easy Thing Makes It Hard. Putting Off A Hard Thing Makes It Impossible – G. Lorimer

What can I say about this one, hey? The Retaliator is always around, operating from within us. Some people call it “the inner spoilt brat”. Not all procrastination emanates from anxiety. Sometimes you just don’t feel like doing something productive. This is where The Retaliator comes to play.

The Retaliator is that rebellious voice within us that still behaves like a 3 year old. It’s impulsive and demands what it wants whenever it wants without any care whether it’s alright or not to do so. It is self centred and a bully. It demands you act on it’s desires so that it can relieve it’s own tensions.

It doesn’t care about your reputation and integrity. It doesn’t care about your successes and your respect towards other people. It is self seeking and seeks to please itself – period. It is responsible for holding many people captive of bad habits and never wants them to begin doing the right thing.

It requires effort and energy for you to undertake any form of work and the Retaliator doesn’t feel like expending effort. It makes sure work will not be done in time and give you reasons why it’s not wise to work on your goals on time or get to your destination on time.

It will give you reasons to procrastinate such as:-

“It’s too cold to get started”
“It’s too early to get started”
“You have a lot of time at your disposal, so wait!”
“This can be done quickly, so wait!”
“It’s late to get started today, you’ll have more time tomorrow.”
“I’m waiting to get money and resources to get started”

All of these ‘reasons’ sound logical, but they are merely excuses. The Retaliator is simply convincing you that putting off your projects for a later time is the best logical thing to do. It feels comfortable when you don’t have to do anything. If you want to do something, it begins looking for ways to hinder that progress, it will do anything to make sure you either pick up the phone and gossip, or watch TV, relax, have a nap and do things slowly to get to appointments late.

If you repeatedly allow The Retaliator to control your decisions, not only will
you end up procrastinating more and more; but you will also be constantly dissatisfied with your life, and you’ll feel powerless to do anything about it.

Wikipedia defines Anxiety as a psychological and physiological state characterized by cognitive, somatic, emotional, and behavioral components. These components combine to create an unpleasant feeling that is typically associated with uneasiness, fear, or worry.

When talking about procrastination, anxiety is that feeling that grips you when you begin thinking about undertaking that important project or assignment in your life. You might feel it anywhere in your body such as in the stomach, neck, leg, hand, jaws, etc …..everyone feels it differently.

It is that feeling you might have that might want you to go to sleep, watch TV, or do something that is more relaxing than undertaking your project. It is a feeling that can cause you to feel weak in your body and you feel like fainting. Anxiety is a type of fear. It’s a more subtle, relatively low focused form of fear. When anxious, you may not even be fully aware of what you’re anxious about. You just feel it, and still can’t put your finger on what it is that is wrong.

But if you want, you can decide to be honest to yourself and ask yourself why you keep on postponing your assignments. You might discover you are afraid of failing, being rejected, not being perfect, or afraid of getting out of your comfort zone. (Afraid of succeeding or the pressure that comes with moving to the next level in life)

Your mind in most cases will not permit you any chance to ponder on why you are anxious. All it’s worried about is to find a solution to give you a temporary relief from that anxious feeling. The relief is THE PROMISE that the important tasks will be undertaken at a later time.

This promise will not get any work done, but it will surely make you feel better and at ease. As you can see, your mind is simply deceiving you to feel better by procrastinating. Trouble is, the clock is always ticking and when the time comes for you to take action and implement those important projects, you begin suffering again from those feelings in your body, you feel crippled and overwhelmed. So what do you do to feel better and get rid of those anxious feelings in you? You rewrite history by re-promising yourself you will do it another time in the near future. So you carry on procrastinating so as to feel better. You keep going through the cycle again and again.

As you know; all assignments and projects have deadlines. So what happens when the deadline approaches? You begin to panic, you feel out of control, you speak negatively about yourself and feel so disappointed by you. You see yourself as a loser and as someone who can’t complete anything in life.

The promises you used to give yourself about completing your projects at a later time will stop bringing you an reliefs. The only option you have is to either work quickly under pressure and you still run the risk of making mistakes and not being able to complete your projects. If you want to be successful lets say in business, that’s not the way forward. You will destroy your reputation and you will not be trusted by any parties involved in your business endeavors. You lose credibility and you might end up broke.

For you to progress, you’ll need to break this anxiety based cycle, otherwise you’ll continue to procrastinate to get temporary reliefs. Tell yourself: this isn’t so hard, it won’t take long, and I am sure that I know how to do it, or that I can learn while I’m doing it. It’s all about ignoring those feelings and positively affirming that you are capable to undertake and complete the task at hand. Last but not least, get started as early and as soon as possible.

We established that procrastination is all about putting off your projects for yet another day or putting off doing something for later.

Procrastination is never good because things will never get done and time doesn’t wait for anybody as you might know. We all know that “another day” has got it’s own projects and “later time” has got it’s hands full.

It’s important you never procrastinate but seize each day, moment properly and do things at the right time. There are other events and things that can cause us to never complete our assignments on time and that’s understandable, but if you can help it; it’s time you do the right thing and stop putting them off.

Procrastination Is An Action With Consequences.

Every action has it’s own consequences. If you don’t do something, you will reap the rewards of not doing something. If you do something productive, you will reap the rewards of being productive.

Procrastination will keep you from being all you can be! You have the potential within you to become the best at what you can do. But if procrastination is allowed within your tents, you won’t be able to get to where you should be in life. You will only reap mediocre results and failures. This leads to regrets and frustrations about life.

Procrastination Is Cured By Being Decisive & “Taking Action”.

If you’re procrastinating on something, its time you sit down and do something about it. Don’t let procrastination ruin your life, relationships, career, business, finances, etc. Don’t allow it! If allowed, it will ruin everything that’s important to you, it will guarantee you unhappiness in the near future and making sure you will be denied of the finest privileges and good things life has to offer.

It’s time You Do The Right Thing!

My desire is to see you living life to the full; happy, peaceful and fulfilled. This can only happen if you become a decisive person, willing to pay whatever price you have to pay to guarantee yourself these privileges of life. Can you do it? Yes you can! Stop worrying about what might happen; whether you will succeed or not. Make it happen!

“Nothing Is So Exhausting As Indecision, And Nothing So Futile.” – Bertrand Russell

“Nothing Is So Fatiguing As The Eternal Hanging On of An Uncompleted Task.” – William James

Procrastination is a behavior of putting things off to a later date or time. Procrastinators usually say; “I have enough time, I will do this and that later on”

How many times have you ever wanted to write your book, your article or even a letter to someone and you rescheduled it for another time in the near future? How many times have you ever tried to call someone and you kept on believing there is enough time in the future to do so? Procrastinators reschedule their “now tasks” to implement them in the future such as; reading an important book, completing an important assignment, doing some homework on time, spending time with kids, body exercise, spending time with loved ones, etc

You make lists upon list of all the things you’re going to do in the near future. But when that future time comes to present, instead of you implementing those tasks, you look for something else to do like:

Checking your emails

Deciding to watch TV

Deciding to do some laundry

Playing solitaire or free cell games

Surfing the web looking for a new product

Calling someone to have a general chat or talk about someone

Looking for additional information to read from the Internet as if you don’t have much to read

Etc

And then . . . “Oh, God there is not enough time to do this and that!, Oh well, I have to do it tomorrow now”

Tomorrow comes. What happens? History repeats itself. What a waste if you ask me. Procrastinators tell lies to themselves. Such as, “I’ll feel more like doing this tomorrow.” Or “I work best under pressure.” But in fact they do not get the urge the next day to do something.

Procrastinators actively look for distractions, particularly ones that don’t take a lot of commitment on their part. Procrastinators sabotage themselves. They put obstacles in their own path. They actually choose paths that hurt their performance.

Procrastination holds someone back or can I say it keeps you back in the past. There is no improvement from procrastination, things remain the same waiting for you to change them. The future has no JOY because of procrastination. Procrastination for real is a thief of time, energy and self-esteem. But we not only aide this theft, we ENCOURAGE it! And when we finally do get around to the fundamental tasks, we’re exhausted, guilt-ridden and stressed out.

There is no success in the future if you entertain procrastination in the present.

Like so many things, procrastination is not an untamable beast. It is a habit that has some specific origin, and it is a habit that you can overcome. It is not something you should habitat in your life, but get rid of it to enjoy a good quality life without worries that comes from pondering on missed opportunities.

There are many ways to avoid success in life, but the most sure-fire way to fail is procrastination. – Simon Preacher

Resistance is an inner activity that takes place inside of you. Whenever resistance is in motion you won’t even realize it; because it becomes part of your mindset rooted deep down in your subconscious mind.

Many people have suffered, or shall I say are suffering because of Resistance and the reason why it gets to work is because of a word called unfamiliarity. Something that is Unfamiliar is something that is unusual, strange or not known. So that is how resistance kicks in. It goes to work because there is something you are trying to embrace or adopt in your life or mind and due to the unfamiliarity of that you are thinking of; Resistance begins fighting the battle for you to try by all means to stop the new thought to be part of you.

If you are resisting success it’s probably not obvious to you because resistance is an inner process. It’s part of a mindset that is rooted in the subconscious. So when you find yourself being reluctant to start that business, write that book, or refusing to believe you can succeed in this life, then you should know resistance is at work. In most cases it has something to do with your background or upbringing. As for me, I resisted success because I didn’t see anyone around me achieving any significant measure of success. All I was told was, “life is too hard” time and again. I was familiar to words such as; “We can’t afford this, we can’t afford that, there is no money for that, etc”So when I grew up; anytime there was an opportunity for me to earn more and succeed I wasn’t able to seize those opportunities. It looked like there was some evil person working out some magic for me to never attain success even though it was at my finger tips. I didn’t know soon enough that there was something within me called Resistance that found success as UNFAMILIAR.

Procrastination, indecisiveness, overworking, overeating, multi-tasking, being late, missing appointments, wanting to sleep, are all signs of resistance. Resistance makes you feel uncomfortable, it drains the power of creativeness, it numbs you and you end up feeling like you can’t do it. It is fighting inside of you to stop you doing anything it thinks is stupid.

So when you see yourself failing to step into that next level of business success, earning that huge income, getting involved in that glorious relationship or any other aspect of your life, then you know, resistance is working. Even though this battle is taking place within you, it will still show up in the the outer world and in the quality of your life. This inner conflict is a battle between your true desires and false beliefs.

Desire or longing for betterment in life is part of human nature. Every person on planet earth yearns for good things and greatness. Desire lead us to our purpose and the expression of our innate gifts and is filled with the energy of success. But you may desire and as long as resistance is tolerated, your desires will not come to fulfillment. Resistance is the wall between desire and fulfillment. If you desire to buy a nice car let’s say a Rolls Royce and your being is resisting that car, you will fail to have enough resources whether money, favor or people to help you buy that car. You end up with a second hand car or a brand new small car, not a Rolls Royce though! Why? Because resistance stopped your desire to be fulfilled. Those false beliefs were working within you, telling you that a person of your calibre can never own a Rolls Royce.

Resistance is the voice of lack and limitation that intends to hold you back from fulfilling your true desires. You will identify resistance If you listen inside of you, you will hear voices such as “I am not worthy of success, I am not good enough, I can never have this, I can never find someone nice to marry me, etc, etc” Then you know it is there and those voices needs to be stopped.

Well I have got good news; you can move beyond resistance and shift into a new mindset and a new way of being. It is 100% possible. First of all, find out what it is you are resisting – that desire your heart is rejecting. What is the voice inside of you saying? Find out, if it is saying, “you won’t be able to achieve this….., afford that,….”etc then you need to take note of that. I want you to create an awareness of resistance since it is the key to your breakthrough. Get into the habit of pinpointing the signs and symptoms of resistance and say to yourself, “Here we go again, resistance trying to hold me back to succeed” This will expose it, defuses its power and loosens its grip on you.

Then begin reinforcing new thoughts in your life. Thoughts that you can succeed, that you are worthy enough to have anything that is right in the world. Begin to tell yourself that you can do it. Become your own cheerleader. Cheer yourself up until the new thought is ordained and accepted in your life.

Never allow resistance to run your chores, it will keep you down, hold you back and you will not achieve your true purpose. Love yourself, don’t wait for people to love you. Don’t wait for people to tell you you can do this and that. Don’t wait for people to tell you your potential. Tell yourself first, as you do, people will begin to see where you are heading and they will confirm your new beliefs.

I know once you get rid of resistance, nothing will stop you to live your life to the full.

To Your Full Potential
