Pause & Think! If You Aren’t Going All The Way; Why Go At All?

You can never attain anything in life if you start something today and go hot for it for a while, talking about it, thinking about it, planning it and so on; only to find yourself putting it aside for another new idea. Will you reach the finishing line if you stop in the middle of your tracks? NO!

If you decide you want to do something in your life; go for it all the way until you accomplish it. Be careful not to acquire a habit of starting things up and never finishing them. If you decide you are going to run a race, then run that race until you reach the finishing line.

Many people have great ideas, they want to accomplish great things in this life but lack of consistence is preventing them from living their lives to the full. Lack of consistence is a joy stealer, a vision stealer and a goal stealer. Don’t entertain such a spirit, it’s not good for you.

You can accomplish your goals, but you need that zeal and determination to go all the way!

Activity, Activity, Activity; that’s your key to any form of success. Activity always pays, remember that! Without activity, you won’t go anywhere: you will be like a goat tied to a tree going round and round in circles, still getting back to the same place!

• Write that book?
• Paint the house?
• Build that website?
• Start that business?
• Create that product?
• Learn that language?
• Start an exercise program?
• Call that prospective client?
• Apply & Enrol at the university?
• Take someone away for a short break?

Have you been wondering why you haven’t achieved anything of significance yet? Your Problem is; You’re Lacking Activity in your endeavors! No Activity, No Achievement! If you don’t do, you won’t get. Can you harvest grain even though you didn’t plant anything? I don’t think so!

You need to get going, you need to get started and when I say get started, I mean get started! No more putting things off for later or when you feel like you want to. You need to get started now! There is no point of speaking about it, telling everyone about it, planning it and doing nothing!

If you don’t act, your life will remain the same, conditions will remain the same and your results will be the same. No Activity, No Success!

Your only option is to take massive action!

Your Own Resolution To Succeed Is More Important Than Any Other One Thing! – Abraham Lincoln

Success is a journey you have to embark on. Your road to success is like any other road, there will be bumps, sharp bends, potholes and so on. However, if your mission or goal is to succeed in your chosen endeavor, then you must be ready for them and adjust accordingly. Never allow them to intimidate you, or deviate you from your path to success. You need to be persistent and never give in to negativity, criticism or persecution.

You are responsible for your success. It doesn’t matter what people might have said about you, that’s old news! It doesn’t matter how many times you have failed in so many things, that again is old news! If you study your road to success properly (the knowledge & skills you need to succeed), and are willing to pass through the detours (critics, negative thoughts, procrastination, laziness, distractions, etc) then no matter what, you will reach the finishing line.

Even though events and other people might stand in your way, you still have the power to overcome all the odds to become a success. It is your own willingness, desire, knowledge, skills and persistence that will see you through to success. If Abraham Lincoln did it, You too can do it. There are so many people who succeeded in life because they desired to succeed.

We don’t hear much about Abraham Lincoln’s defeats because his victories were so notable. But for the most part of his life, the odds were against him.

When he was nine, his mother died.
In 1832 he lost an election to an Illinois State legislature.
In 1849 he was rejected as Commissioner of the General Land Office
In 1855 he lost Senate race
In 1856 he was unsuccessful in his bid for the vice presidency
In 1858 he lost Senate race again

However, his most painful losses were the deaths of his 4 year old and 12 year old sons. He was born in the backwoods of Kentucky  with a few months of schooling without any text books. Students back then had to repeat and understand the words of their teachers! He read the classics, taught himself mathematics, worked on his writing and speaking skills. His philosophy was, I will study and prepare, and when the time comes, I will be ready!

He told a friend, “Bear in mind, Jimmy that, your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing”

Yes, Bad things happened to Abraham Lincoln, but let me inform you why bad things often happen to good people:

Bad things happen to good people because it is a necessary part of making a good person great!

Failure isn’t permanent unless you quit. Failing is only a detour not a dead-end. Failure is never final – unless you choose to give up! Don’t give up, keep going.

I want to challenge you today, to prepare yourself, get the knowledge you need, learn from whomever you need to learn from, and get moving to success. Let nothing stop you! Your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing!

Set Clear Goals

“Without the vision of a goal, a man cannot manage his own life, much less the lives of others.” – Genghis Khan

You need to know what you really want to achieve in your life. Clear goals will keep you focused on what you really want to achieve. Warren Buffett – the 2nd richest man in the world and the most successful investor – said his companies ability to generate such large profits is the result of being able to set clear goals by focusing on what is really important, and not paying attention to things that would distract his company.

• Positive Thinking

Think positively all the times. Undo negative conditioning, work on building positive beliefs and use your imagination to help you create the life you truly desire. Even if negativity grabs your attention, refocus on the positive. Do not let self-limitations hold you down. It’s not easy but your magnificent mind is so powerful that it can help you (with little training) focus on your desires and not your fears.

• Stay Fit
  

Eat Well… the Best Diet you can afford will help. Without proper nutrition, it is difficult to get your positive energies moving in the right direction. Exercise regularly to stay fit. Regular exercises clears your mind, grounds out negativity, and improves your health. Drink quite often, eat fruits, this helps you to stay fit and up to the task at hand. You can only enjoy your work if you are in good health.

• Upgrade Your Value

To remain efficient in your endeavors, you need to upgrade your value. Your value is your worth. You can only build more value by acquiring more knowledge, qualities and new skills. Get a mentor if you don’t have one and keep learning daily. Get hold of any learning materials to acquire more knowledge.This helps you to become more creative and efficient at all times. Never stop learning.

• Evaluate The Status Quo

Take a stock of your current situation. Is there anything that is holding you back to reach your goal? It could be anything from friends, family, TV, sports, Internet, lack of qualification, etc You can arrange special times with family and friends to spend time with them. You can limit the times you watch TV. You might need to enrol at a college/university or online to obtain whatever qualification you need to reach your dream. List down everything that is holding you back and take the necessary action to make sure it doesn’t stand between you and your dream.

• Take Action

If you think about it and believe it you must also act on it! There is no point in thinking and wishing something and you don’t take action. Without action, your intentions will not manifest to reality. Take the right action, and lots of it. Don’t be lazy, get to work!

• Persist

Sometimes it can be hard to keep going towards attaining your goal. You will need persistence on the road to success. Do not allow anything/anyone to stand in your way. If you make a mistake, rise up, seek a solution and keep going. If the going gets tough, keep going. You will get there. If Abraham Lincoln was alive. He would have told you about the power of persistence. He failed in so many ways, lost his loved ones, was humiliated in elections, but he never gave up. He persevered until he became the President of The United States – A great one by the way. In fact he told someone that, “Your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing!” Put on the garment of persistence and keep going!

I stumbled on this video where Sir Richard Branson in TED (www.ted.com) was talking about his school days as a Dyslexic. Apparently, Sir Branson left school at 15 and even though he wasn’t good at school, that didn’t stand in his way to become a successful husband, father, business man and a role model of our day.

No excuses to those who would say they were not good in school or they left school early and their life has no meaning. It’s all about finding your way to the top!

You are still alive right? Then you’ve got a chance from today to change your life and do something great with it. Don’t hold on to excuses, or to what people or teachers and respected figures have said about you. It’s in the past, it don’t mean anything. It only mean something if you give it a right. You can’t change the past, but can surely do something rewarding in the present and change your future. Find a way to the top!

Sir Richard Branson did something with his life. He had excuses to justify why he could’ve lived a mediocre life. But he didn’t give glory to his weaknesses instead he used his mind and concentrated on his potential to find his way to the TOP!

You are THE ONE who walks towards success and climb that ladder to open the window of opportunities in your life. All Successful people are ACTION PEOPLE. If you come across a successful individual, ask them what they did, they will tell you that persistence was a major key to their success. Persistence is all about moving forward come hell come thunder. They will of the sacrifices they had to make to get to where they are now.

It’s now your turn you make some sacrifices to become successful in the areas of your life that needs success.

Paying the price of success is not an easy thing to the soul. It means sacrificing your sleeping times, television times, resting time, etc to accomplish your goals. Many people are not willing to suspend some of their pleasures to achieve their purposes in life. But do they get anywhere by spending their whole evening watching TV? The answer is; NO! they won’t go anywhere. If you want to succeed, you have to be willing to PAY THE PRICE! You need to make some sacrifices. Are you ready to PAY THE PRICE? Persistence is your key to success. On your journey to success you will come across obstacles/hindrances and don’t worry about it, a lot of people have walked the same kind of path too. There are those who allowed those obstacles to discourage them and they never get to finish their journey and on the other hand there are those who never allowed obstacles to stand in their way. There will be road blocks, stumbling stones, mountains to climb, debris to clear, etc but if you persist on climbing those mountains and stepping on those stumbling stones, you will eventually reach your destination. In this case, you will succeed. That’s what persistence is all about. Being able to keep on going despite the circumstances and conditions. If you set yourself up to succeed in your life, don’t let anything stand in your way. The strength of those who are successful lies solely in their Tenacity.

People who focus on success never associate themselves with negative emotions. They don’t allow their past to dictate their tomorrow. They never play a victim mentality – wasting their time pointing fingures at other people. They don’t have time for that! They value their time so much that they are always looking for ways to solve any problems they are facing and determined to see their objectives and vision accomplished. The criticism that might come from other people never discourages them. They keep their focus on their tasks and what they want to achieve.

I encourage you today to STAY FOCUSED. Don’t allow negative reports from the news, economists, government about the economy and recession to stop you achieving your goals. Keep going at whatever you want to achieve in this life.

Goodness me!!! This brother didn’t have any reason to continue to try. He had a proven track record that he was a failure. But he never allowed all that adversity stand in his way. He believed he could succeed. He never played a victim game or a blame game about the unjust of people and the corruption that might have been surrounding him. He believed in his true purpose and destiny and is one of the most revered former president of The United States.

Many people  fail because they lose heart and faint at a point or time I call the eleventh hour. They go through planning, setting goals, etc but when the going gets tough, they fail to get going. On the other hand, those who are successful, keep on pressing forward come rain or thunder, they keep on believing and they are not worried about critics. Successful people; when the going gets tough, they toughen up and keep on going.

Successful people cheers themselves up, they don’t need any one’s approval. They set goals and stick to them to the core. They read books that benefit them, they attend seminars that benefit them and they don’t put their hope in the government or other people. They don’t believe if the government or the banks refuses to give them money, they are doomed. They believe in themselves totally and always believe that if a door is shut another one will open.

For you to be successful, always remember the road will have a few stumbling blocks, you should not be discouraged, keep on moving and continue to encourage yourself. PERSISTENCE or can I say another EXTRA MILE is The Difference That Makes The  Difference.
