When a hunter is shooting in the dark, they are doing so hoping they might hit something. They don’t have their shot on target, they are simply praying that by some chance, they might be able to catch their prey. (That is a surefire way of failing!) The probability of catching something in such a case is very low. Hunters who shoot in the dark are not successful hunters. You have got to know where your prey is and moreover, you’ve got to have your shot on target; that’s the only way you can catch your prey and succeed in your endeavors. Shooting in the dark is a guess game and it don’t work!

This is one of the major problem with so many people who are striving to become successful. They don’t plan anything, they don’t write their goals down, they want to get somewhere they have never been before without a map. That’s insane and the probability of getting lost is high.

If you want to succeed in life, you got to have a map which will show you where you are going. Write your goals down don’t ever think you can just work it all out from your head. If not you will get distracted by all sorts of things and you won’t remember what your mission for the day was and this will lead you to more failure. Not writing your goals down, hoping to succeed in this life its like throwing your arrows in the dark. Don’t do such thing! Goals are steps you need to take to get you to your intended destination.

Don’t woke up each day hoping that you might do something that is going to make you a success; you have got to research, plan, have clear goals and take action. My simple formula is know what you want, know how you want to get there and let nothing stand in your way. Simple as that! Success is not a random game!

The following are the characteristics of tiny little creatures called Ants. Ants are an amazing species that can teach you a few things for you to succeed in life. King Solomon who wrote the book of Proverbs said the following statement about Ants…..“Go to the ant, you sluggard, consider her ways, and be wise; Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provides her meat in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.”

What a powerful statement! The ants are noted by one of the wisest man who ever lived on earth as wise. And in their being wise, they no longer need any ruler, or leader for them to enjoy a sophisticated way of life. I am sure we humans can model their lives, don’t you think? We can end wars, greediness, jealousies, etc if we have an attitude like the one the ants have.

1. Ants Are Tenacious

Ants never give up, they don’t quit! I remember as kids we were playing at a farm and saw ants going about their business and decided to interrupt them by blocking their path; but I have noticed one thing, they don’t complain, they always quickly look for another way and carry on with their journey. They don’t have time to say “Why Me?, Why Is This Happening To Us?” No, they don’t have time to be depressed. They keep on moving and pushing forward to go out there and complete their daily tasks. If you bury them in a pit or cover them with dirt, they will find a way to dig themselves out and move on.

What a great example. This is exactly the attitude you need in your life. Don’t let other people’s activities towards you ruin your life. If they bury you alive, find a way to dig yourself out of that pit. Don’t stay down. If they place stumbling stones in your way, climb on top of them or go around them. Think like ants always. They are thinking about winter and how they should gather their food on time. They are not worried about sudden attacks, those things are part of life and they know that. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you’re supposed to go.

2. Ants Plans For The Future

During summer time, ants don’t have time to watch TV all day, Play Video Games all day or sitting down doing nothing. They think of winter during summer time. Many people fail in life because they don’t plan in advance. Ants know summer will never last forever and that winter will come one day. Many people complain about their relationships, their financial disposition, etc They blame the government, the local council for the things that are happening in their lives. These people are the same people who don’t take action when they have a chance to do so. They don’t invest time with their loved ones and still expect things to be fabulous. They don’t look for different multiple streams of income to make money, so that when one stream run dry, there will be other streams to drink from. They don’t write goals down for the future, they woke up each morning without a clue of what they are supposed to accomplish that particular day and when things go wrong, they wonder why? When winter comes, ants are calm and peaceful for they know they’re prepared for it.

Whatever you want to achieve in your life, you can accomplish it. Accept there will be obstacles, but you will find a way to achieve your purpose. Make sure you create a plan for everything you want to achieve from now onwards.

Like ants be committed to Never give up, Stay focused on your objectives, have a positive mindset and do all you can to do as much as you can.

One of our greatest resources in our daily lives is TIME. It seems as if we never have enough of it and it appears to pass so quickly. The thing is, we won’t get any more of it and we can’t slow it down.

The only way you can maximize your time is to make the most of it. If you put a strategy in place, you will do more with your TIME than living it to chance to dictate how you should operate throughout your day.

Let’s look at some of the simple steps we can implement to maximize our TIME effectively.

Pre-Planning

Pre-planning simply mean – Planning in advance. Whatever you are doing today, would’ve been planned yesterday. Before you live your office or before you go to bed, plan for tomorrow and be specific with your times as well. Don’t just be vague when you write down your tasks; be specific by setting time limits. This helps you to avoid wasting time early in the day as you might probably procrastinate thinking there is plenty of time during the day to do such and such. This is how you can write down your tasks for tomorrow:

1. To Finish Task A by 10am by doing a, b, c, d
2. To Finish Task B by 3pm by doing a, b, c, d, e

Pull together all the information you’ll need, phone numbers and relevant paperwork. This really does help. You will work up energized knowing that everything has been pre-planned before and you know exactly what you need to do. Don’t forget to set aside time for any hindrances that might come your way tomorrow.

Prioritizing Your Tasks

Make sure you prioritize your list and start with the most productive tasks or the important tasks. Concentrate on higher value tasks and then work down to lower value ones. Many people get trapped here. They usually concentrate the other way round and at the end of the day, they discover, they didn’t do much because the tasks they implemented were not the most productive ones. One key reason why prioritizing works, and works well, is the 80/20 Rule. The 80/20 Rule states that 80 percent of our typical activities contribute less than 20 percent to the value of our work.

Self Discipline

Yes, you need to be totally disciplined. This means you should stick to your guns. Be a person of your word. Honor yourself and your word. Stick to your list – Tick off each task as you go and don’t let yourself be distracted. There are so many distractions throughout the day. Maybe some emails or phone calls that do not bring value to your day. You might need to set up time for that. Setting time limits will help you not spending time arguing with other people when you could be implementing your daily tasks. You can even make an agreement with yourself to check for messages every two hours or so. Stick to the plan.

Outsource

Depending with what you do in life, you can’t do all things by yourself. So try to find the right person to do the things you are not good at doing. Or delegate some of your tasks to someone you can train to do them. And remember – “Only do it if only you can do it.” If you can’t, outsource the activities to someone who is capable.

Measure Performance

Measuring performance offers an effective method of determining whether you’re meeting your daily goals and achieving your desired results. Be honest with yourself – Keep asking – “Is what I’m doing now getting me to where I want to get to?” if the answer is “no,” change what you’re doing.
