If you were to go to a hospital for a heart transplant, and you were given a choice between a cardiac surgeon or a general surgeon; which one would you choose? Simple question huh? This is a no-brainer, almost everyone will choose a cardiac surgeon because they are the specialist surgeons in matters that concern the heart. General surgeons may know a thing or two about heart transplantation but they don’t specialize in cardiology, hence they are not the best in this field.
Everyone likes to dance with the best! No one wants to work with the second best! People who are specialist command high fees because (as we all know) they are the BEST at what they do. They understand their subject than those who just simply know a little bit about it. Specialists are wise and creative when it comes to their field, they know all the ‘ins and outs’ about their subject than anybody else. Specialists are not worried about knowing every subject in life, they only care about knowing everything that pertains to their own field of endeavor.
If you have been trying to know everything or trying to specialize in everything, you will know it’s a daunting task. Your best bet is to become a specialist at something and not a generalist in everything. If you become a specialist, people will want to work with you, they know you are the right person for the job, they’ll be chasing you to solve their problems and in return you will be rewarded massively. Being a specialist creates trust among your clients or prospects, and in turn it brings you great success. It’s time you become a specialist at something!
