Not Always As It Seems!

by Simon Preacher on August 25, 2009

Many times we like to judge things from our own points of views. It’s not good to behave in such a manner! Think about the wars in the world, domestic fights and all different kinds of disputes that happen around us, why do they happen? Simply, because everyone is looking at the same situation from their own angle or view point!

You can never understand someone if you don’t stop for a minute and put yourself in their shoes, see what they see from their view point, understand their fears and reactions, then you will be able to understand their behaviors. The world will be a better place if we are patient enough to understand others from their view points.

Never judge people quickly or criticize them. You might not know what they are going through, and you might not know what they went through to behave the way they are behaving. Best thing is to be patient or get to know them if that was possible – You’ll save yourself  a lot of grief and stress.

What about strangers we meet, and they annoy us along our way? Same principle goes; be patient! Maybe someone has made a mistake when they were driving and nearly bumped against your car; before you swear, pause for a while, for you don’t know what’s up in their life. Maybe they are new to town and are lost, or maybe they are trying to rush somewhere, one of their loved ones is in the hospital or something. You get the idea – be patient, you simply don’t know what’s up in someone’s life.

“Heavenly Father, help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and was rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children. Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can’t make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester. Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking fellow, begging for money in the same spot every day is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares. Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.”

Don’t Rush Into Conclusions!
