Let Go And Live

Holding on to your anger is like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die. – Buddha

People catch all kinds of diseases; suffer from migraines, headaches, ulcers, depression, stress, anger, resentment, you name it………

They are busy 24/7 consciously and unconsciously playing horror movies in their inner mind.  Rehearsing past events they cannot change. Many think that; rehearsing negative mental pictures will make it better. On the contrary, it destroys them, wears them down and renders them powerless. It doesn’t get better at all!

There is nothing cool about holding on to past hurts and failures.  Nothing is cool about being angry for a long time or even to keep talking about it. It’s a complete waste of energy and time.

Change and learn how to let go and live. You will not make your life better by holding on to bad things (that’s poisonous food). Things will not get better because you rehearse negative mental pictures all day; things will only get worse. It doesn’t matter whether you were wronged or not, disrespected or not, embarrassed or not, cheated on or not. It doesn’t matter who was wrong and who wasn’t.

Holding on to such things, brings more harm to the possessor.

Here’s one that my friend told me (not sure who said it originally though), “Anger is actually punishing yourself for the mistakes of others”.. I remembered that quote cos of your post. :)

In relation to the letting go part, here’s a book that I recently read that tackles exactly that: http://www.howtostopselfsabotage.com.

    Hey Arlene

I like that quote from your Friend. “Anger is….Punishing yourself for the mistakes of others!” I couldn’t say it any better.

    Thanks A lot
