How Committed Are You?

fyi_committed peopleCommitment is the attribute that separates achievers from failures, winners from losers. It keeps people moving forward despite any hindrances that might have stood in their way.

People who are committed keep going no matter what. They are not moved by economic downturns or moved by what negative critics say to them. They press forward until they accomplish their purpose.

Committed people respect their commitments, they keep their promises. They do what they say, way after the time they said it has passed. They are not worried about sacrificing temporary pleasures for a glorious future.

The following are habits of committed people:

  1. They honour their promises.
  2. They’re more than willing to finish their projects.
  3. They don’t allow distractions to stand in their way.
  4. They quickly learn from their mistakes and move on.
  5. They invest their time, money, and energy into their commitments.
  6. They maintain their focus on their current assignment until it is fulfilled.
  7. They don’t jump from project to project before they finish the previous one.

Any tasks that might seem trivial, committed people understand the importance of delegating that sort of task to someone else who can do the job for them and they stay focused on their main important tasks. They understand the importance of prioritizing their workload in order to avoid being inefficient.

Now my question to you is: are you a winner or a loser? Are you a committed person? If you want to accomplish your goals, make sure you put on the hat of commitment. You’ll need it if you want to go far.

  • There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results
  • “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, the providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.”

    William Hutchinson Murray
  • Anthony or Tony Robbins said it this way:

“The truth of the matter is that there's nothing you can't accomplish if: (1) You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving, (2) You're willing to take massive action, (3) You notice what's working or not, and (4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way.”
  • Whenever you are committed to something, there is always a way. Committment is that attribute you need to accomplish your goals.
